Kindergarten is off to a wonderful start in Mrs. Marchant's room! We spent a week learning about the legend of Johnny Appleseed. We tasted the different types of apples and graphed our favorites. Can you believe this class favorite is the bitter green Granny Smith?
The kids are working on their letters and sounds, & have been taught 7 sight words. Each morning they are working on identifying the parts of a book, the author and illustrator. Last week we read the Little Red Hen and took turns helping make bread in the classroom. The kids learned how important it is to help one another and work as a team. It was fun to learn the process a grain of wheat goes through when it is sent to the mill and eventually becomes a loaf of bread on our table.
In Science we experimented by mixing blue & yellow paint to make green and red & yellow paint to make orange. This class loves to paint! We are excited to learn all about Fall and our 5 sense in the upcoming weeks!
